While teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will be running the same left-side tire code (D-4158) at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend, they will be running distinct right-side codes . . . Bristol is the only track at which Sprint Cup teams will run this left-side tire code . . . this will be the fourth straight race at Bristol that Cup teams will be running this combination of left- and right-side tires, dating back to March 2008 . . . this exact tire set-up, including this right-side code (D-4160), has also been run at the last four Cup races at Pocono between 2008-2009. . . Casey Mears and the No. 07 Richard Childress Chevrolet team attended a tire test at Bristol in July . . . .also attending that test were Jason Keller and Steven Wallace in their Nationwide cars, and Todd Bodine and Ron Hornaday in their Camping World Trucks . . . Bristol is unique in that teams will be required to run inner liners in only their right-side tires this weekend . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire. The estimated pit window is every 130-140 laps, based on fuel mileage (Sprint Cup).(Goodyear), see full notes, tire pressures and more on my Bristol Race Info page – Goodyear Section.(8-21-2009)
