Atlanta Goodyear Tire Notes:

Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will be running different tire set-ups at Atlanta this weekend . . . Sprint Cup teams will be running a new combination of left- and right-side tire codes . . . this combination came out of a Goodyear tire test at Atlanta on July 13-14 . . . participating in that test were Kurt Busch (Dodge), Denny Hamlin (Toyota), Jamie McMurray (Ford) and Tony Stewart (Chevrolet) . . . compared to the tire set-up Cup teams ran at Atlanta this past March, Goodyear has made a construction change to both the left- and right-side tires . . . that change is designed to give the cars more grip . . . the compounds on both sides of the car are unchanged from March . . . Atlanta is the only track at which these two tire codes are scheduled to be run in 2009. The estimated pit window is every 50-54 laps, based on fuel mileage (Goodyear).
