Aric Almirola said on Saturday at Sprint’s Sound and Speed event in Nashville, Tenn. that he will be back racing with Phoenix Racing’s #09 Chevrolet in the Sprint Cup Series this year. According to the driver’s latest talks with team owner James Finch yesterday, it will be for the entire schedule-no matter what. Finch has also told the driver the team doesn’t plan on being a start and park team this season. Almirola also said that the deal will allow him to continue racing with Billy Ballew Motorsports this season in the Truck Series. “Still planning to run some truck races like I did last year with Billy Ballew Motorsports,” Almirola said. “I went into Homestead having no idea what I was going to do next year.
