Jamie McMurray’s Daytona 500 victor’s celebration is complete with a trip to CBS’ “Late Show.” And you know David Letterman couldn’t resist the pull of that vortex known as “the pothole.” As Letterman congratulated McMurray, he asked about the length of the race, which was extended because of a pothole in the track. Letterman: “You have issues with potholes in the parking lot, not in the racetrack, for God’s sake.” At the end of the interview, Letterman asked, “Will there be potholes in future races?” McMurray replied, “We hope not.” McMurray was a good sport throughout the interview.(Sporting News)(2-16-2010)
