Daytona marked the 18th race of the season, so we’ve officially hit halfway in the 36-points race schedule. Anyway, this is a good time to take a look at how things have changed since last year in looking at the points and who’s climbed the most and who has fallen the most compared to this point a year ago. Naturally, #29-Kevin Harvick is the leader. Last year he was 26th in the points with 1,683 points. This year, he’s leading the points with 2,684 points. Thus, he’s climbed 25 spots in the points and gained 1,001 points from this time a year ago. To put his success into greater perspective, it took him 28 races last year to exceed the point total he has now in 18 races.(Hampton Roads), to see a list of drivers and the exact points spread from last year, see my Daytona Race page.(7-5-2010)
