Thanks to Bobby Hamilton Jr., Middle Tennessee stock car fans will have another venue to watch racing other than Nashville’s Fairgrounds Speedway, which is expected to close in October. Hamilton has purchased Riverview Speedway Park, a quarter-mile paved oval, in Carthage about 50 miles from Nashville. “It won’t ever take the place of the Fairgrounds, but it’s going to be another venue to go to,” said Hamilton, who also owns Highland Rim Speedway in Ridgetop. “Some people will complain that (Riverview) is so far out. But for a lot the people that come to the Fairgrounds or to Highland Rim, this is closer. We’ve got travelers that live in Murfreesboro, Lebanon, Mt. Juliet, and (Riverview) is only 25 minutes from them.” Hamilton is currently overseeing renovations, repairs and construction of a pit road.
