NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie #16-Colin Braun is unsure what his sophomore year in the series and his fifth year overall in NASCAR will look like. The 22-year-old Texan tells WSB that his plans with Roush Fenway Racing for next season are not limited to any series, as there are rumors floating around that Roush may be looking to restart a program in the Camping World Truck Series. “I’m not really sure exactly what the situation is exactly with the Truck program,” Braun said. “Obviously, it’d be pretty cool if they get back into the Truck Series – that’d be pretty awesome. It’s fun to race there.” Braun’s future in the Nationwide Series, or any NASCAR series, likely very much depends on the commitment that sponsor Con-way Freight, who sponsored Braun for two seasons in the Truck Series and has been aboard the #16 Ford for 18 races this season (16 of which with Braun as the driver), can out forth for 2011. Right now, those plans are very much in the air, but Braun says that Roush Fenway is working hard to not only re-sign Con-way Freight, but also any other potential backers for the team. UPDATE: Colin Braun told Sirius NASCAR Radio’s Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody that he is approaching the date when Roush Fenway Racing will be contractually obligated to either offer him a ride for 2011 or allow him to begin talking with other teams. If RFR is not able to make him an offer, he will have to begin the all-too familiar process of searching for a new job. “It all comes down to relationships and who you know (in the garage),” he said. “The toughest part of the deal is that you can’t talk to anyone when you’re under contract. It’s tough, but since I was racing quarter midgets at five years old, I’ve never had a super clear picture of what I was doing the next year. I’m used to the uncertainty.”(Sirius Speedway)(11-17-2010)
