Roush to drive pace car in Michigan NNS race:

What’s next for Jack Roush, NASCAR team owner, successful Northville businessman, passionate pilot and two-time plane-crash survivor? What about pace-car driver? ‘Well, they ‘re going to let me drive the Ford Mustang pace car for today’s Nationwide Series race,’ Roush said Friday. ‘At 8:30 (in the morning), I ‘m going to get my instructions. I don ‘t know if they ‘ll let me drive afterwards. My guess is I ‘ll just be in the pace car for one of the preliminary laps and won ‘t be there when it’s time to turn them loose for the green flag.’ Roush, 70, is a very competent driver ‘” he raced dragsters as a youngster and plenty of muscle cars over the years. Today, Roush will be at the wheel of one of his Roush-built Stage 3 Mustangs to pace the race. The vehicle was donated by Roush for auction with a portion of the proceeds going to the SAE International Foundation for science and math education.(Detroit Free Press)(6-16-2012)
