  • Jimmy Means Racing gets Indy sponsor; to honor Colorado shooting victim: The NASCAR Nationwide Series #52 team, owned by Jimmy Means, will show support this weekend for Matt McQuinn who lost his life shielding two people from gunfire in last weekend’s tragic events that unfolded in Aurora, CO. Each crew member, as well as driver Tim Schendel, will have stickers placed on their helmets and the car will have a sticker of memoriam to honor Matt’s life. Crew member, Mark Sanders, is from Matt’s hometown of Springfield, OH and currently sits on the board for the Friends of Brandon – a 501(c)3 non-profit organization who supports people affected by violence. Sanders and this organization approached Means for support, and Means did not hesitate to show his admiration and support for Matt. Matt was only 27 years old at the time of his death. He reacted instantaneously and heroically by shielding his girlfriend from the gunfire that broke out in the cinema.
