Nelson Piquet Jr’s father celebrates his 60th birthday this coming Friday, August the 17th. As a tribute to his father’s racing career success, Piquet Jr. is running a special image on his bed top of his father’s first racecar, a “Super V” he used to win his first National Championship. The #30 Autotrac Chevrolet Silverado team will bring chassis TMS-218 to Michigan International Speedway’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) VFW 200. This chassis is making a quick turnaround, after debuting at Pocono Raceway earlier this month. Piquet on returning to MIS; “Michigan International Raceway was one of the first tracks I drove on when I first started in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. My last race in Pocono was heartbreaking for me; I really thought it was going to be my first victory in the No. 30 Chevrolet Silverado. We’re bringing the same truck this weekend, and my team built a fast one. Maybe this weekend I can finally get my team the win they deserve.”(Turner Motorsports PR) [Rendering of the #30 Autotrac Chevrolet Piquet driving at Michigan is posted on the #30 NCWTS 2012 Paint Schemes page.] (8-14-2012)
