On the final weekend of the Olympics, ESPN’s live telecast the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International on Sunday, Aug. 12, earned a 3.3 household coverage rating (2.8 U.S. rating), averaging 4,472,687 viewers, according to the Nielsen Company. Last year’s race was rained out and run on a Monday.
