RHR owner DeLoach looking for “intermediate” win at home track:

Not one but two coveted Daytona trophies? Check. Sitting atop the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points? Check. A victory in last week’s Truck Series race at Bristol? That too. On the surface, it seems Red Horse Racing co-owner Tom DeLoach has it all. So, what more could the Statesboro, Ga., native possibly want from Friday’s Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway His first-ever win on an intermediate track. Red Horse Racing, winner of nine Truck Series races since its inception in 2005, surprisingly never has sealed the deal on a 1.5-mile speedway, but DeLoach is convinced his three-truck team is armed with its best-ever shot this weekend at Atlanta, located about three hours from his hometown. “Atlanta being a nice win for me would be an incredible understatement,” DeLoach said. “We can win on the superspeedways — we’ve got two Daytona wins. We’re really good on the short tracks, so it’s just a matter of that one little box (1.5-mile track) we need to check. With Todd (Bodine), Parker (Kligerman) and Timothy (Peters), we’ll get it this year. I have no doubt we’ll be there.” “While the mile-and-a-half tracks haven’t provided a win for Red Horse Racing, the organization takes a few secret weapons into Atlanta,” Krista Voda, host of NCWTS Setup, stated. “Todd Bodine. He’s the king of the mile-and-a-halfs. Parker Kligerman is driving with a renewed sense of hunger, and finally, as the points leader and most recent winner, Timothy Peters is riding a wave of momentum. It’s a triple-headed attack heading into Atlanta.”(SPEED.com)(8-30-2012)
