Joey Logano moves over from Joe Gibbs Racing to take over the #22 Pennzoil/Shell/AAA Ford. Logano signed a multi-year deal with Penske Racing and hopes to help stabilize the team after a tumultuous season in 2012 when A.J. Allmendinger was suspended for violating NASCARs drug policy in July. Sam Hornish Jr. took over the ride for the rest of the season and was retained by Penkse to run for the Nationwide Series championship. Penske Racing also switches manufacturers, going from Dodge to Ford as Dodge left the sport after the 2012 season. Todd Gordon will return as crew chief in 2013. Pennzoil Shell returns as the primary sponsor and AAA will be the primary sponsor for a few races. Logano also gets a new spotter as Tab Boyd after spending a year as Danica Patricks spotter and was Juan Pablo Montoya prior to the 2012 season.
