NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing on ESPN averaged a 2.6/7 on Sunday, August 11th for the race from Watkins Glen. Thats off -4% from last years 2.7/6. MORE ESPNs live telecast of the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen International on Sunday, Aug. 11, earned a 2.7 U.S. household rating, averaging 4,171,328 viewers, according to the Nielsen Company. The rating and viewership were slightly down from last years race, which earned a 2.8 U.S. rating and averaged 4,472,687 viewers. Greensboro, N.C., led all markets with an 8.1 rating, followed by Greenville, S.C., at 7.5 and Knoxville, Tenn., at 7.1. Birmingham, Ala., was fourth with 6.9 with Charlotte, N.C., and Richmond, Va., tied for fifth at 6.7. Rounding out the top 10 markets were Nashville, Tenn., 5.8; Norfolk, Va., 5.7; Jacksonville, Fla., 5.5 and Ft. Myers, Fla., 5.2. Ratings for ABCs telecast of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Watkins Glen on Saturday, Aug.10, will be available later this week.
