The rating was down from the 3.4 for last years race, which also aired on ESPN and averaged 5,557,932 viewers. ESPN2s live telecast of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Atlanta on Saturday night, Aug. 31, earned a 1.0 U.S. household rating, averaging 1,610,513 viewers.
