Rain will be an issue Sunday:

The National Weather Service forecast for Sunday at Chicagland Speedway does not look good. It now calls for showers, mainly after 10am/ct with a high near 68. The overall chance of precipitation is 100%. Chances drop to 80% tonight. The hourly forecast calls for a steady chance of rain through the afternoon and evening. There are lights at the track so the race could be run at night if needed. Mondays forecast looks good. For more weather info see the Chicago Race Info Page – weather section . AND: Due to the forecast, NASCAR has move up the command to start engines to 2:01pm/ct and the green flag is now scheduled for 2:10pm/et.(9-15-2013) UPDATE: Rain fell at the track from about 12:30-2:00pm/et. Jet dryers then worked to dry the track. Pre-race ceremonies were completed about 3:20pm/et. Engines were fired at 3:29pm/et and the race went green at 3:40pm/et. There will be a competition caution on lap 30. Theres another band of rain about 2 hours west of the track.
