Paul R. Kuhl Sr. of Raritan Township died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at his home. He was 87. He was probably most known for his involvement in the Flemington Agricultural Fair, serving as both president of it and the related Flemington Fair and Carnival Association. And he served as president and promoter of Flemington Speedway, at the fairgrounds. He was a former director of Racing Promoters Workshop, Daytona Beach, Fla. and was elected to the National Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 1991. He served as vice-president of National Old Timers Auto Racing Club. In addition, he was voted Auto Racing Promoter of the Year in the Eastern United States at Daytona Beach in 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990 and 1991; was voted Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Nationwide in 1991; and received American Racing Legends Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.(Hunterdon County Democrat)
