Juan Pablo Montoya says he is open to running both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600. Montoya, competing in the Verizon IndyCar Series after having spent the past seven seasons in NASCAR Sprint Cup, made the comments Friday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. ‘If (car owner Roger Penske) wanted me to do it, then I probably would do it,’ Montoya said of running both races in the same day. ‘It would be cool. But I don’t want to force him into anything.’ The 2000 Indy 500 winner finished fifth in that event in May. He’s not worried about the physical toll of racing 1,100 miles. ‘Physically I don’t think it would be that hard, to be honest with you,’ Montoya said. ‘If you want to do it properly, it would be a lot of fun. Their cars on a mile-and-a-half track run really, really good. If you could have a test day there or somewhere on a mile-and-a-half to get the car close to what I want and get an idea of what I want, it would be a fun experience. There are a lot of possibilities if you think about it.’(Motor Racing Network)(8-2-2014)
