Phoenix International Raceway announced that DAV (Disabled American Veterans) will be recognized as the title sponsor of the track’s November NASCAR Nationwide Series race. The DAV 200 – Honoring America’s Veterans will be the featured event on the third day of PIR’s Veterans Day race weekend. The DAV 200 – Honoring America’s Veterans will be the semifinal race in the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule. With the Nationwide Series title on the line, the green flag will drop at 5:00pm/et on Saturday, November 8. DAV’s National Commander, Ron Hope, said this race weekend is a fitting addition to the many events across the country that remember America’s fallen, wounded, ill or injured. ‘This is the time of year our country pauses to reflect on those who ensured we enjoy the freedoms we sometimes take for granted” said Hope. ‘This event, in addition to the excitement of attendance for a semi-final event, will make veterans aware of the free services available to them and educate the public on volunteer opportunities and other ways they can say ‘thanks’ to those who served.’(PIR)
