In 1992, few could have predicted that when Jeff Gordon strapped into the #24 car for Hendrick Motorsports at Atlanta Motor Speedway for his first Sprint Cup Series start on Nov. 15 of that year that he was embarking on a career more than two decades long to become one of the sport’s foremost icons. Twenty-three years and four Sprint Cup Series championships later, Gordon will return March 1 to Atlanta, still driving the #24 for Hendrick Motorsports, to compete for his sixth career victory there, as his final full-time season behind the wheel begins in earnest. Through the years, both Gordon and his fans have made countless memories, many of which are rooted in his Atlanta success and the four championships he has celebrated at the storied track. As part of the weekend tribute to Gordon, Atlanta Motor Speedway has established a commemorative ticket package for his final race in Atlanta as a full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver. Fans who take advantage of the extremely limited Jeff Gordon ticket package will receive $24 off individual tickets in the Upper Winners Grandstand, Upper Champions Grandstand or Upper Earnhardt Grandstand for the March 1 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500. Additionally, fans who renew their tickets for 2016 will be invited to special event with Gordon in attendance during next year’s race weekend, as well as an automatic entry into the Atlanta Motor Speedway Insider’s Club.(AMS)(2-10-2015)
