Phoenix Raceway will host a star-studded pre-race ceremony for the semi-final race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup as legendary boxer Vinny Paz will greet drivers on stage as the Grand Marshal prior to the Can-Am 500 on Sunday, Nov. 13. Also, local Olympian Brady Ellison will serve in the same role on Saturday for the Ticket Galaxy 200, joined by Harlem Globetrotter and Phoenix native Anthony ‘Buckets’ Blakes as honorary starter. Vinny ‘The Pazmanian Devil’ Pazienza is known as one of boxing’s most charismatic and exciting fighters and will bring the same energy as Grand Marshal for the Can-Am 500. Since his professional debut in 1983, the five-time world champion fighter has earned titles in lightweight, junior middleweight and super middleweight divisions. He has delivered top performances throughout his career, including a victory over Hall of Famer and boxing icon Roberto Duran. Three-time Olympian Brady Ellison, the Grand Marshal of the Ticket Galaxy 200, is a full-time archer coming off an individual bronze and Team USA silver-medal winning performance at the 2016 Rio Olympics.(PIR)(11-5-2016)
