- Kennedy Assumes Crew Chief Role #55 team: Michael Waltrip Racing announced that Bobby Kennedy and Paul Andrews will switch managerial roles beginning with Martinsville Speedway. Kennedy will now serve as crew chief for Michael Waltrip and his #55 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota team as Andrews will continue in a leadership role to supervise Michael Waltrip Racing’s test teams. “Paul did a great job in helping us reach our top-35 goal and I know he will continue his diligence with our test teams for the betterment of our organization,” Waltrip said. “Bobby has always been there for me and my NAPA Auto Parts Toyota team to help with our decision making process. We have known each other for a very long time and I guess you can say that we are made for each other. Going to Martinsville with Bobby knowing we have the luxury of being in the top 35, is a relief. - Testing at Nashville: Toyota Motorsports rented the Nashville Superspeedway for an all day test on Tuesday [March 25th] for team testing. Bill Davis Racing, Hall of Fame Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, Michael Waltrip Racing, and Red Bull Racing Team participated in the day long test. Nashville Superspeedway will serve host to Toyota Motorsports testing 25 times throughout 2008. Nashville Superspeedway host the Toyota Tundra 200 Craftsman Truck Series race in August. - JTG Promoting Childrens’ Miracle Network: JTG Racing and Kingsford Charcoal, the sponsor of the #59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford driven by Marcos Ambrose, announced a special promotion and partnership with Rite Aid to benefit Children’s Miracle Network. During the month of April, Kingsford will donate $0.25 to Children’s Miracle Network for every purchase of Kingsford, Match Light or Kingsford Lighter Fluid products at any Rite Aid store nationwide. Additionally, the #59 Ford Fusion driven by Ambrose and his helmet will feature a paint scheme created by a patient at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC and will be seen at the May 24 CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
