Virginia governor issues stay at home order

NASCAR Statement: “NASCAR is aware of the stay-at-home order issued for Virginia. We will continue discussions with public health officials and medical experts as we assess rescheduling options.”

ORIGINAL POST: Virginia Governor Ralph Northam issued a stay at home order for the state on Monday that will be effective through June 10 (unless rescinded earlier).

The order states, in part: “All public and private in-person gatherings of more than ten individuals are prohibited. This includes parties, celebrations, religious, or other social events, whether they occur indoor or outdoor.”

NASCAR’s next currently scheduled race is Martinsville, VA on May 9.
