  • No #41 at California UPDATE: Larry Hedrick’s #41 Chevy team is not planning to make the trip to California Speedway this weekend. Gary Bradberry has been driving for the team since Rick Mast left after the race at Bristol on March 26. Crew chief Phillipe Lopez and engine builder David Evans followed Mast to A.J. Foyt’s operation. The former crew chief, Donnie Disharoon has been named crew chief for Hedrick. The team is taking the weekend off to regroup(Times-Dispatch)
    UPDATE: hearing that the team may have closed up shop due to lack of sponsorship. Supposedly many of the crew has gone with Lopez to the #14 team(4-25-2000)
  • Testing? hearing that #94-Bill Elliott, #12-Jeremy Mayfield and #4-Bobby Hamilton were testing at Pocono today(4-25-2000)
  • California Notes: All three Winston Cup Series races at California have been won from a top-five starting position. Darrell Waltrip posted his most recent top-five finish in the 1998 California 500 when finished fifth. Jeff Gordon and Terry Labonte have both posted three top-10 finishes at California, the only drivers to do so. Brett Bodine and Kyle Petty have finished 26th or worse in all three races at California(Speed Magazine)(4-25-2000)
  • Little SW Sponsor: RacingOne.com, an online community of Web sites that caters to auto racing fans by providing them with unfiltered motorsports news and information, has announced that it will be the primary sponsor of Chad Little’s car in upcoming NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series races(RacingOne)(4-25-2000)
  • Missing Child Featured: Joe Nemechek and his Cellular One Racing team will take part in an effort to raise awareness surrounding a missing child in the Las Vegas, Nev. area. The effort will be highlighted by a hood decal on Nemechek’s #87 car that will run in this weekend’s Auto Club 300 Busch Series race at the California Speedway in Fontana, CA(TachZone)(4-25-2000)
