- Truck Series to get a new name? UPDATE: Gander Outdoors naming rights of Truck Series to begin in 2019: Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis is looking at a brand swap for naming rights to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in ’19, sources said, and a tweet he sent Friday night lends more credence to the possibility. Lemonis wrote he has “big news” coming regarding the future of the Truck Series. Lemonis in ’14 early extended the Camping World entitlement, which is worth around $5M annually and was due to run through ’15, by signing a seven-year extension through ’22.
UPDATE: NASCAR and Camping World have expanded their agreement to provide Gander Outdoors naming rights to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Beginning in 2019, the national series will be rebranded as the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.Camping World originally became title sponsor of the Truck Series in 2009. In 2014, NASCAR and Camping World signed a landmark seven-year agreement, continuing the partnership through 2022. This newly expanded agreement provides official NASCAR status and naming rights to Camping World’s partner brand, Gander Outdoors. The remaining years on the deal are still intact.[More](5-8-2018) - Glen And Leonard Wood to receive distinguished Patrick Countian Award: The brothers, now mostly retired from the racing business, have been inducted into numerous racing halls of fame including the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Talladega, Ala., and the Stock Car Hall of Fame in Darlington, S.C. On Tuesday morning, Glen and Leonard Wood will be honored by their home folks in Patrick County. The Patrick County Student Government Association has selected Glen and Leonard Wood as the 2018 recipients of the Distinguished Patrick Countian Award, now in its 43rd year.[More](5-8-2018)
