Conor Daly’s full time 2025 Xfinity Series plans fell apart

With the Indianapolis 500 seat Conor Daly took from 29th to 10th a year ago handed to fellow IndyCar veteran Jack Harvey, Daly said Wednesday on his ‘Speed Street’ podcast that he is fighting for his racing life in the coming weeks.

There was a time a few months ago where Daly’s aim was to be racing full-time somewhere else entirely. His initial proposal for funding from Polkadot, the blockchain technology run by its community of ‘Dot holders’, for 2025 called for a $7.5 million budget, according to the proposal summary viewed by IndyStar. The seven-figure sum would’ve been put toward primary sponsorship of a full 33-race Xfinity series campaign ($4.3 million) — with Sam Hunt Racing — as well as a 500 one-off return to Dreyer and Reinbold Racing ($1.5 million), where he ran with alongside Ryan Hunter-Reay a year ago in May.
