Race Rundown

Denny Hamlin wins second leg of historic NASCAR Cup doubleheader: Denny Hamlin turned the tables on Kevin Harvick on Sunday at Pocono Raceway. Staying out on old tires and building a lead while Harvick battled traffic late in the Pocono 350, Hamlin won the second race of the historic NASCAR Cup Series doubleheader by 3.068 seconds over Harvick, reversing the finishing order of the two drivers from a day earlier. For the first time in its history, NASCAR ran two Cup events on the same weekend at the same track.[Read More](6-28-2020)

Some logistical notes on the Pocono doubleheader weekend:

  • Teams will use the same car both days.  If a team has to go to a backup car for Sunday, they will start at the rear for that race.
  • The lineup for Saturday’s race is set based on random draw by owner points (just as previous races have been this year).
  • Saturday pit stalls are based on Talladega’s race finish.
  • Sunday’s pit stalls are based on Saturday’s race finish.
  • Sunday’s lineup is based on Saturday’s race finish.  The top 20 drivers on Saturday will be inverted for Sunday’s start. Drivers that finish 21-40 on Saturday start in that position for Sunday.
