Joey Logano advances in NASCAR Cup Playoffs with dramatic win at Atlanta: With a strong last-lap push from Team Penske teammate Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano rocketed into the Round of 12 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs with an overtime victory in Sunday’s Quaker State 400 available at Walmart at Atlanta Motor Speedway. #22-Joey Logano won the Quaker State 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The win is his 2nd win of the year, 2nd at Atlanta and 34th career win. The win also locks him into the Round of 12.
#99-Daniel Suarez finished 2nd followed by #12-Ryan Blaney, #20-Chrstopher Bell, #48-Alex Bowman, #45-Tyler Reddick, #8-Kyle Busch, #9-Chase Elliott, #24-William Byron, and #2-Austin Cindric.
The race ended under caution during the first overtime attempt. Logano was leading with two laps remaining when #10-Noah Gragson wrecked, bringing out the caution. Logano restarted the race as the leader and didn’t give it up.  The caution came out just before the checked flag flew, when several drivers got together.
Pole sitter #34-Michael McDowell led the first 29 laps of the race but finished 34.
Playoff contenders having problems: #5-Kyle Larson wrecked while running second during the first stage. #14-Chase Briscoe was unable to avoid him. They were unable to continue.
Stage 1 was won by #12-Ryan Blaney. Stage 2 was won by #2-Austin Cindric.
There were 24 lead changes among 14 drivers and 8 cautions for 44 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 132mph.
