#88-Shane van Gisbergen won the Toyota / Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway. The win is his third win of the year, first at Sonoma and fourth career win.
#19-Chase Briscoe finished 2nd followed by #9-Chase Elliott, #71-Michael McDowell, #20-Christopher Bell, #45-Tyler Reddick, #54-Ty Gibbs, #24-William Byron, #22-Joey Logano, and #8-Kyle Busch.
Van Gisbergen dominated again and overcame several late race cautions. He started from the pole, won the second stage, and led 97 of the 110 laps.
The fastest lap bonus was #7-Justin Haley.
Stage 1 was won by #1-Ross Chastain. Stage 2 was won by #88-Shane Van Gisbergen.
There were 12 lead changes among 6 drivers and 6 cautions for 17 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 75.087mph.

Race updates:
Checkered flag for Shane Van Gisbergen for the third time this year.  Briscoe finishes second, then Elliott, McDowell, Bell, Reddick, Gibbs, Byron, Logano, and Busch.
White flag for SVG. He’s ahead of Briscoe by 1.3 second. Elliott now 2.5 seconds back.
Lap 109 – Two laps remaining. SVG over Briscoe by 1.2 second, Elliott up to third but still 1.8 second back.
Lap 108 – SVG leads Briscoe by nearly a second. Elliott, on fresh tires, up to fourth, 1.8 second back.
Lap 107 – Green with 4 laps remaining. SVG leads Briscoe, Bell, Buescher, and Hocevar.  Larson and Blaney spin. Larson with damage. No caution.
Lap 104 – Green with 7 laps remaining. SVG, Briscoe, Buescher, Bell, Byron, Hocevar, Smith, Berry, Stenhouse and Haley.
CAUTION is back out again. This time an accident in the esses involving Stenhouse. NASCAR will have to do some repair on the tire barrier.
Lap 100 – Green flag with 11 laps remaining. CAUTION comes back out after spins by Jones and Gragson in turn 7. Gragson has damage and can’t restart.
Lap 99 – Under caution, SVG leads Briscoe, Buescher, Byron, Bell, Smith, Hocevar, Stenhouse, Berry, and Jones. Elliott will restart in 14th. He was the first driver off pit road.
Lap 98 – Pit road is open. Elliott pits from third. Briscoe, Buescher and Byron stay out.  Many others pit.  A total of 13 drivers stay out.
Lap 96 – Down to 15 laps remaining. SVG still in control, ahead of Briscoe by 2.4 seconds. Third place Elliott is 5 seconds back.
CAUTION is out. Ware lost a wheel and it rolled down the track. Blaney will be the free pass.
Lap 93 – Briscoe is now in second, but 2.7 second back.
Lap 91 – With 20 laps to go, SVG has retaken the lead.  McDowell back to second, third place Briscoe is 2.2 seconds back, then Elliott 4.7 seconds back and Buescher 6.2 seconds back.
Lap 89 – On fresher tires, SVG is now just 1.7 seconds behind McDowell for the lead and closing fast.
Lap 88 – Larson pits, as does Hocevar.  McDowell now the leader.  SVG up to second.  Briscoe runs 5th, 2.5 seconds behind SVG. Suarez and Cindric are third and fourth but need to pit.
Lap 86 – Larson now the leader over Hocevar, McDowell, and Chastain.  They have not pitted. SVG is fifth and will retake the lead once pit stops are complete.
Lap 85 – This time SVG and Byron pit.  Bell takes the lead for now.
Lap 84 – Briscoe pits from second.  Byron moves to second but currently 11 seconds off the lead.
Lap 83 – Keselowski, Allmedninger. Elliott, and a few more others in the pits this time.
Lap 82 – Bowman, Buescher, Logano and others are on pit road.
Lap 81 – Thirty laps remaining. SVG continues to dominate. He’s currently ahead of Briscoe by 2.9 seconds. Sounds like pit stops are going to start picking up in the next few laps.
Lap 77 – Herbst comes to pit road. Most drivers will probably wait a bit to make their final pit stop.
Lap 74 – Everyone needs to pit once more for fuel. SVG leads Briscoe, Byron, Elliott, Bell, Buescher, Preece, Bowman, Gibbs, and Keselowski. Busch spun during the lap but continues.
Lap 71 – Forty laps to go. SVG already ahead of Briscoe by 1.6 seconds.
Lap 66 – Back to green with 45 laps remaining. SVG leads Briscoe, Byron, Buescher, and Bell.  Blaney is one lap down.
Lap 64 – Pit road is open. Most of the field stays out.
Lap 62 – CAUTION is out. Blaney off track after contact from Buescher. He’s stopped and can’t get the car going.  At the time of the caution, Wallace and Hamlin also spun but continued.
Lap 60 – Back to green for the start of the final stage. 51 laps remaining.  SVG, Briscoe, Buescher, Blaney, Byron, Elliott, Bell, McDowell, Preece, Gibbs the top 10. Gragson spun in turn 3A but is able to get going.
Lap 58 – Pit road is open. Again, drivers that had not pitted are in for service.  SVG continues to lead. Briscoe back to second.
Lap 56 – CAUTION out for the end of stage 2. SVG passed Larson on the final lap to take the stage win. Larson is now second, then Busch, Wallace, Stenhouse, Briscoe, TDillon, Buescher, Blaney, and Byron. Hocevar is the free pass. All drivers will be on the lead lap on the restart.
Lap 55 – One lap remaining in stage 2, it’s Larson, SVG, Busch, Wallace, and Stenhouse.  Of those, only SVG has pitted.
Lap 54 – SVG pits with two laps remaining in the stage. So does Briscoe and Blaney.
Lap 53 – Byron and Buescher among those pitting this time.
Lap 52 – Pit stops starting before the end of the stage.
Lap 49 – SVG’s lead is up to 2.9 seconds over Briscoe. Blaney up to third, with Bryon fourth, then Bell. Seven laps left in stage 2.
Lap 45 – Suarez spun in turn 11 but continues on.
Lap  43 – Briscoe has moved to second, 1 second behind SVG.  Thirteen laps remaining in stage 2.
Lap 41 – SVG’s lead over Bryon is a half second. Briscoe has moved to third, 1.4 seconds back.
Lap 35 – SVG continues to lead but appears to be driving more conservatively since the stage began. Byron is just .36 seconds back with Gibbs less than a second back. Briscoe and Bell round out the top 5.
Lap 31 – Allmendinger has spun but continues on. He was running 5th at the time. Nemechek also goes for a spin after contact.
Lap 30 – Back to green for the start of the second stage. Top 10: SVG, Byron, Briscoe, Blaney, Gibbs, Elliott, Allmendinger, Bell, Reddick, and Buescher.
Lap 27 – Drivers that had not pitted before the end of the stage come in for service.  They includd Chastain, Wallace, Stenhouse and TDillon, among others. SVG retakes the lead.
Lap 26 – CAUTION for the end of stage 1. Chastain wins it over SVG, Wallace, Stenhouse, Byron, TDillon, Briscoe, Blaney, Gibbs, and Elliott.
Lap 25 – Final lap in stage 1, Chastain leads. SVG is second even after pitting.  Wallace is third.
Lap 24 – SVG pits from the lead, along with Byron and Briscoe.  Chastain takes the lead. Bell spins on the lap but continues.
Lap 23 – More pit stops among a lot of drivers further back in the field.
Lap 22 – Some drivers on pit road before it closes near the end of the stage.
Lap 18 – Now SVG starts to pull away some. His lea over Byron is up to 3.8 seconds. Eight laps remaining in stage 1.
Lap 14 – Byron is hanging with SVG, 1.6 second off the lead. Briscoe is back to third, but 6.8 seconds back.  Then Chastain, Bell, Blaney, Allmendinger, Gibbs, Reddick, and Elliott.
Lap  9 – SVG leads Byron by 1.1 second. Third place Chastain is 4.3 seconds off the lead.
Lap 5 – SVG continues to lead. Byron has moved to second. Then Chastain, Briscoe and Allmendinger.
Lap 2 – SVG leads lap 1.

NASCAR Rule Book Section 8.5.7.6.C states: NASCAR may determine that it is impractical to complete the advertised Race distance. In this occurrence, NASCAR, in its sole discretion, will determine when the Race concludes and will communicate a predetermined time to the competitors.
As was announced over the main race channel, if the NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway cannot reach the advertised Race distance after the conclusion of Stage 2, the conclusion time today will be 8:20 p.m. PT.

For the third straight road course race, #88-Shane van Gisbergen won the Busch Light pole award for the Toyota / Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway. His fast pace was 96.040 mph, as he became the first driver in Cup Series history to win his first four pole awards on road courses.
#19-Chase Briscoe ranked second in qualifying (95.719 mph), slotting in ahead of #24-William Byron (95.488 mph), #1-Ross Chastain (95.409 mph) and #16-AJ Allmendinger (95.367 mph) to round out the top five.
#54-Ty Gibbs, #12-Ryan Blaney, #45-Tyler Reddick, #48-Alex Bowman and #20-Christopher Bell filled out the remainder of the top 10.
