#5-Kyle Larson won the Toyota / Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway. The win is his 3rd win of the year, 2nd at Sonoma and 26th career win.
#34-Michael McDowell finished 2nd followed by #17-Chris Buescher, #9-Chase Elliott, #1-Ross Chastain, #16-A.J. Allmendinger, #12-Ryan Blaney, #45-Tyler Reddick, #20-Christopher Bell, and #38-Todd Gilliland.
Larson made his final pit stop with 29 laps remaining, later than the other lead drivers.  He came back on track more than 8 seconds off the lead, but on fresher tires was able to get the lead with 8 laps remaining.  #19-Truex lead late and was running second on the final lap but ran out of gas and finished 27th,
Pole winner #22-Joey Logano was involved in an early race accident and finished 21st.
Stage 1 was won by #45-Tyler Reddick. Stage 2 was won by #17-Chris Buescher.
There were 11 lead changes among 8 drivers and 8 cautions for 22 yellow flag laps.

Race updates:
Checkered flag: #5-Kyle Larson picks up his third win of the season. #34-McDowell finished second, then  #17-Buescher, #9-Elliott, and #1-Chastain. #19-Truex Jr ran out of gas on the final lap and the caution was thrown.  Truex will finish 27th.
Lap 110 – White flag for #5-Kyle Larson.
Lap 108 – Three to go.  #5-Larson in control. #34-McDowell has moved to third.
Lap 106 – Five laps remaining. #5-Larson now in control. His lead over #19-Truex Jr is up to .9 seconds. #17-Buescher is now 2.5 seconds back and in danger of losing third to #34-McDowell.
Lap 103 – #5-Larson leads #19-Truex Jr by .3 second. #17-Buescher has fallen to one second back.
Lap 102 – #5-Larson then gets the lead from #19-Truex Jr. Coming to 8 laps to go.

Lap 99 – #19-Truex continues to try to get to #17-Buscher for the lead but can’t make it up to him.  he’s .2 second back.  Larson now just 1.7 second back and coming fast.  He has the advantage at this point.
Lap 95 – #17-Buescher continues to lead, but #19-Truex Jr has closed to .6 second back. #5-Larson is now up to third, 4.5 seconds back.
Lap 90 – #17-Buescher lead #19-Truex, Jr. by 1.5 second. Then it’s #8-Busch 4.8 seconds back and #5-Larson 7 seconds off the lead.
Lap 85 – #9-Elliott and #7-LaJoie pit.  #17-Buescher retakes the lead. Larson is in 6th, 8 seconds back but with fresher tires.
Lap 84 – 27 laps remaining.  #9-Elliott and #7-LaJoie up front.  They still have to pit. Then #17-Buescher, #19-Truex Jr, #8-Busch, #16-Allmendingr, #34-McDowell, #5-Larson, #1-Chastain, and #38-Gilliland.
Lap 82 – #5-Larson pits from the lead and #9-Elliott is now up front.
Lap 80 – #5-Larson leads #9-Ellott by 6.8 seconds. Elliott will pit in the next 5-7 laps. Larson still needs to pit as well.
Lap 79 – #14-Briscoe to the garage and done for the day. He suffered damage in one of the early cautions.
Lap 75 – Current top five are #5-Larson, #9-Elliott, #7-LaJoie, #12-Blaney, and #15-Grala.  They still need to pit.

Lap 69 – Pit stops are beginning.  #17-Buescher in from the lead along with #19-Truex Jr., #8-Busch, #34-McDowell, #22-Logano.
Lap 66 – #17-Buescher leads #19-Truex Jr by 2 seconds.  The pit window will open in the next 3-5 laps.  Expect many to come in shortly thereafter.
Lap 61 – #41-Preece, who was running 3rd, spun out.  He continues on, but falls to 17th.
Lap 60 – Back to green for the start of the final stage. 51 laps remaining in the race.  #17-Buescher leads.  #45 Reddick, who was last to pit, is in 24th but was complaining of some possible damage after contact with #5-Larson.  Everyone else needs to pit one more time.
Lap 58 – Leaders do not pit under caution.  A few drivers in the back of the field take the opportunity.
Lap 56  – Caution out for the end of stage 2. #17-Buescher wins it. He’s followed by #41-Preece, #19-Truex, Jr., #8-Busch, #16-Allmendinger, #6-Keselowski, #43-Jones, #38-Gilliland, #22-Logano, and #21-Burton.
Lap 54 – #45-Reddick pits just before pits are closed.  #17-Buescher takes the lead.
Lap 53 – #5-Larson, #1-Chastain, and #48-Bowman now pit.  #45-Reddick is the only driver that has not pitted yet today.
Lap 52 – #12-Blaney, #99-Suarez, #9-Elliott come to pit road prior to the end of the stage.
Lap 50 – Six laps left in stage 2. #45-Reddick leads #5-Larson by 2 seconds. Third-place #12-Blaney is 3.3 seconds out of the lead.
Lap 43 – #3-Dillon has a flat tire. He is done for the day after not being able to make repairs following his accident.
Lap 43 – Back to green.  Still #45-Reddick, #5-Larson, #12-Blaney, #1-Chastain, and #48-Bowman out front.
Lap 40 – Caution out for the seventh time today. It’s #2-Cindric, #34-McDowell, and #10-Gragson.  All are able to continue.
Lap 40 – Green flag back out with #45-Reddick and #45-Larson up front.
Lap 36 – Caution out again. #4-Berry gets into the wall after contact from #43-Jones and slides into several drivers including #3-Dillon, #19-Truex, Jr., #60-Waters, #24-Byron, #20-Bell, #6-Keselowski. Everyone is able to continue on.
Lap 35 – Back to green flag racing with #45-Reddick, and #12-Blaney up front.
Lap 34 – #34-McDowell, #7-LaJoie, #77-Hocevar, #10-Gragson, #14-Briscoe, #42-Nemechek, and #2-Cindric pit.  Everyone else stays out.
Lap 32 – Caution out for #33-Will Brown. He was stopped on the course after a possible electrical issue. He was able to restart the car and drive to pit road.
Lap 31 – #2-Cindric was off track and in the grass but is able to continue.
Lap 30 – Back to green for the start of stage 2.  This stage ends after 55 laps. The top 10 at the end of the stage stayed out and restart in the same positions.
Lap 28 – The top 16 drivers stayed out when pits opened. #8-Busc and #19-Truex, Jr were the first drivers to pit.
Lap 26 – Caution for the end of stage 1. #45-Reddick wins it. He’s followed by #12-Blaney, #5-Larson, #9-Elliott, #48-Bowman, #34-McDowell, #1-Chastain, #99-Suarez, #7-LaJoie, and #38-Gilliland.
Lap  23 – Back to green. #45-Reddick and #12-Blaney up front with three to go in stage 1.
Lap 19 – Caution out for a spin by#14-Briscoe. He’s got heavy rear end damage. #47-Stenhouse, Jr. spun to avoid him and #22-Logano was hit by a spinning Briscoe. Logano has right side damage in front of the rear tire.
Lap 19 – Green flag with seven laps left in stage 1. #45-Reddick, #12-Blaney, #9-Elliott, #5-Larson, and #48-Bowman the top five.
Lap 18 – Pit road is open. #22-Logano pits from the lead.  The next six cars stay out. #16-Allmendinger, in 8th, pits and the ten drivers behind him stay out. #45-Reddick will be the leader on the restart.
Lap 16 – Caution out for debris from #54-Ty Gibbs. He’s been into the wall and has right front damage. He will be done for the day.
Lap 16 – Ten laps remaining in stage 1. #22-Logano continues to lead #45-Reddick. #24-Byron pitted during the last lap for a tire issue.
Lap 8 – #19-Truex spun, but continues on.
Lap 7 – Back to green. #22-Logano, #45-Reddick, #12-Blaney, #9-Elliott, #5-Larson the top five.
Lap 3 – Caution is out for #11-Denny Hamlin. He’s lost an engine.
Lap 2 – #22-Logano leads the first lap. #45-Reddick remains second.
3:50pm/et – Green flag at Sonoma. #22-Logano and #45-Reddick on the front row. First stage is 25 laps.
3:39pm/et – Engines fired at Sonoma.

11:00am/et – Currently no cars to the rear for the start of the race.  #33-Will Brown had ECU troubles during qualifying so the team will have to look at that when the garage opens. #5-Larson’s team fixed the wrap on his car after he got into the wall during qualifying.  He keeps his position.
