#22-Joey Logano won the Würth 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. The win is his 1st win of the year, 2nd at Texas and 37th career win.
#1-Ross Chastain finished 2nd followed by #12-Ryan Blaney, #5-Kyle Larson, #43-Erik Jones, #47-Ricky Stenhouse Jr., #3-Austin Dillon, #42-John Hunter Nemechek, #20-Christopher Bell, and #99-Daniel Suarez.
Logano led just seven laps on the day. He took the lead  with three laps to go and held on through a late race caution and overtime finish to win by .346 second.
Pole sitter #77-Carson Hocevar led 22 laps early in the race, but was caught in an accident with 30 laps remaining, lost several laps, and finished 24th.
The fastest lap bonus was earned by #77-Carson Hocevar.
Stage 1 was won by #2-Austin Cindric. Stage 2 was won by #5-Kyle Larson.
There were 20 lead changes among 13 drivers and 12 cautions for 73 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 116.885mph.

Lap 266 – Will have an overtime finish. Under caution: Logano, Blaney, Chastain, Jones, Larson, Suarez, Stenhouse, ADillon, Nemechek, Bell.
Lap 265 – McDowell gets loose and Logano to the lead, Blaney to second.  Caution out after McDowell got into the wall on the backstretch.
Lap 264 – McDowell leads Logano by .23 second with four laps to go.
Lap 262 – Six laps to go. McDowell leads Logano by .33 second.
Lap 259 – McDowell leads on the restart. Logano moves to second ahead of Blaney. Chastain to 4th, then Jones and Larson.
Lap 258 – Green out again with 10 laps remaining. McDowell, Blaney, Logano, Larson, Chastain.
Lap 256 – Pit road open but leaders stay out.
Lap 254 – Caution once again as Reddick spins in turn one, but continues on.  McDowell the leader at the time of caution.

Lap 247 – Logano gets around Larson for third. Caution comes back out for an accident involving Cindric, Keselowski, Custer, and Busch on the backstretch.
Lap 246 – McDowell takes the lead on the restart. Blaney now second. Larson back to third.

Lap 243 – After track cleanup is complete, pit road is open but the leaders stay out.
Lap 237 – Caution out again. This time for an accident on the backstretch involving Hocevar, Ware, Preece.

Lap 103 – Hamlin officially out due to his engine.

Lap 89 – Caution out for a spin by Briscoe on the frontstretch. Van Gisbergen also got a little damage.
Lap 88 – Back to green for the start of the second stage.
Lap 84 – Pit road is open. Leaders come in. Off pit road: Berry, Cindric, Larson, Buescher, Reddick, Byron, Hocevar. Haley and Jones were too fast on pit road. Safety violation for Bell.

Lap 75 – Reddick challenging Cindric for the lead, but the caution comes out as Hamlin loses an engine and goes up in flames.
Lap 74 – Reddick quickly up to second place now.
Lap 66- Fifteen laps remaining in stage 1.  Cindric still leads Berry, Buescher, Larson and Hocevar.
Lap 49 – Cindric continues to lead Berry and Buescher. Larson is up to fourth, Hocevar back to fifth with Byron, McDowell, Gibbs, Reddick, and Briscoe rounding out the top 10.

  • This weekend marks the 45th running of a NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, the 13th since the reconfiguration and the third scheduled at 400 miles (267 laps).
  • The last eight Cup Series races at Texas Motor Speedway were won by eight different drivers, the track record is 13 different winners between 1998 and 2007.
