#19-Chase Briscoe won the eero 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway. The win is his first win of the year, first at Chicagoland and sixth career win.
#20-Christopher Bell finished 2nd followed by pole sitter #11-Denny Hamlin, #24-William Byron, #48-Alex Bowman, #23-Bubba Wallace, #12-Ryan Blaney, #54-Ty Gibbs, #67-Corey Heim, and #35-Riley Herbst.
Briscoe started the race seventh and led three times for 51 laps including the final 45 laps. He held off a late charge by Bell to get the win.
Stages 1 & 2 were both won by #24-William Byron.
The fastest lap bonus a earned by #23-Bubba Wallace.
There were 28 lead changes among 13 drivers and 7 cautions for 43 yellow flag laps.

Lap 266 – Two to go. Briscoe by .1 second.
Lap 265 – Three to go and Bell has caught Briscoe and is just .23 second back.
Lap 263 – Five to go. The lead is down to .5 second Briscoe over Bell. Byron continues to fall back.
Lap 261 – Bell is now just 1 second out of the lead. Byron has fallen to 1.9 second back. Hamlin 5.2 seconds back after contact with the wall.
Lap 258 – 10 laps to go. Briscoe still leads. Bell has taken second now, 1.4 second back and closing. Byron is third 1.5 second back.

Lap 109 – Wallace with a 1 second lead over Byron. Then Buescher Briscoe and Hamlin all within 2 seconds. Sixth place Elliott is 4.2 seconds out of the lead.
Lap 100 – Green flag back out. Wallace leads Byron Hamlin Buescher and Reddick.

Lap 96 – Larson is back on pit road, two laps down.
Lap 94 – CAUTION is out for Larson. He spins off turn 4 and slides into the frontstretch grass and gets stuck. Preece will get the free pass and back on the lead lap.
Lap 92 – Wallace leads Byron at the line.
Lap 89 – Green flag for the second stage. 35 cars on the lead lap. Preece now just 1 lap down. Hill and Zilisch are out.

Lap 83 – Pit stops are being delayed because NASCAR is repairing some asphalt on pit road.

Lap 49 – Pit road open again. Most lead laps cars pit. Reddick off first then Briscoe Bell Gibbs Keselowski Byron Larson Nemechek Suarez Wallace. Most took two tires. Gilliland gets spun on pit road after contact from Bell.
Lap 48 – CAUTION in turn 3 & 4 for a hard wreck by Hill.

Lap 31 – CAUTION out for Hocevar and Smith in turn 2. They both continue on.
Lap 26 – Hamlin has pulled out to a 2.3 second lead over Hamlin. Pit stops will begin in about 15 minutes.
Lap 20 – Hamlin back to the lead over Larson Buescher Bell Wallace Reddick Byron Blaney Briscoe and Elliott.
Lap 18 – Hamlin has moved back to second, just .23 second behind Larson.
Lap 15 – Larson continues to lead but Buescher is hanging with him, less than a half second back. Hamlin still in the mix as well.

Lap 7 – Green flag back out. Hamlin Larson Keselowski Buescher Bell the top 5. Preece is 4 laps down.
Lap 4 – Pit road is open. No takers
Lap 1 – CAUTION out for a wreck on the backstretch involving Preece and Zilisch. Heavy damage for Zilisch. The accident appeared to start when Stenhouse got into the wall. Preece tried to avoid but got hit by Jones, sending him into Zilisch.

• Chicagoland Speedway says tonight’s race is sold out.
• Larson’s team had to change front brake rotors on the car but since that is a safety issue he will not have to drop to the rear.
• No cars reported to the rear as of the close of the garage on Saturday.
• Weather is not expected to be an issue this evening, although there is a slight chance of rain. According to the National Weather Service: A chance of showers and thunderstorms … after 1pm.  Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. The hourly forecast says just 20% chance at 6:00pm/et.

Goodyear Fast Facts — Chicagoland: The 1.5-mile Joliet, Illinois, track puts similar demands on tires to other intermediate ovals, so Goodyear has selected tire setups that have already run several times at similar tracks this year. The Cup Series tire setup for this weekend was most recently used at Nashville Superspeedway. The left-side tire has since also raced at Michigan International Speedway and Pocono Raceway.
