Dave Marcis(#71) is denying rumors that this will be his final season in the series. Reports have said Marcis will announce his decision at the Pepsi 400 next month in Daytona, and will retire from driving after next year's Daytona 500( Tennessean )

Dave Marcis went home in a huff after missing Sunday's race, angered mainly at the rule that allows teams that don't qualify on the first day to stand on their speeds. See the rest of the That's Racin' article at Marcis says qualifying deck stacked against him

Today's 5th place finish by Michael Waltrip was his first top 5 in 86 races, Rick Mast and the #98 team posted a nice 10th place finish, Jerry Nadeau posted his best career finish ever with an 11th and how about Dave Marcis, he pulled off a 16th place finish

Jim Sauter is attempting to make the Daytona 500 in a 2nd Dave Marics Chevy, #72. Marcis himself has Mike Skinner's qualifying engine under the hood, and Steve Park has the engine out of Earnhardt's car. Only eight cars went out to re-qualify in second round. No idea

Rusty Wallace missed drivers intorductions(not the meeting) for the Shootout and had to start from the back of the pack; Schraders #33 was blue; for the qualifying race, Dave Marcis had the Rainbow Warrior crew(#24) do his mandatory pitstop during the qualifying race

During Happy Hour Dick Trickle spun the #90 Heilig-Meyers Ford and backed into the outside wall doing extensive damage and forcing the team to unload the backup car. That means Trickle will have to give up his 19th stating spot and fall to the rear of the field.(
