Austin Hill wins rain-shortened race in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Return to Watkins Glen: Race leader Austin Hill was declared the winner of Saturday’s United Rentals 176 at the famed Watkins Glen International road course after lightning in the immediate area forced the field to stop on pit road 11 laps from the scheduled race finish. Hill had taken a 1.023-second lead over John Hunter Nemechek before the trucks headed to pit road where they waited under red flag conditions for nearly an hour before the race was officially called.(Read More)(8-7-2021)

#16-Austin Hill won the United Rentals 176 at The Glen NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Watkins Glen International on Saturday after lightning forced the event to be cut short on lap 61 of the originally scheduled 72 lap race.
The win is his second win of the season, first at Watkins Glen, and his eighth career win. Hill started from the pole and also won stage 2.
Regular season champion #4-John Hunter Nemechek finished second. #2-Sheldon Creed was third, followed by #38-Todd Gilliland, who won stage 1, #75-Parker Kligerman, #21-Zane Smith, #26-Tyler Ankrum, #66-Paul Menard, #32-Sam Mayer, and #42-Carson Hocevar.
There were seven lead changes among six drivers and five cautions for 10 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 87.298 mph.
The Watkins Glen race put an end to the regular season and locked in the Playoff drivers moving on to the Round of 10, which begins at the next series event at the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway.
#18-Chandler Smith was disqualified following post race inspection for failing heights. It did not alter his eligibility into the Playoff field.
