In an eventful, caution-filled Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway, #21-Austin Hill snuck through on the final set of corners after taking the white flag in sixth position to score the win of the Marine Corps 250. It’s his second win of the season, and his first victory on a short track in the Xfinity Series.
#8-Sammy Smith charged into Turn 3 on the final lap, turning #54-Taylor Gray for the race lead. Smith traded paint with #7-Justin Allgaier, but Hill surged ahead. A pileup on the frontstretch ensued.
#00-Sheldon Creed collected another runner-up finish — the 14th of his career still having yet to win. Allgaier took the checkered flag in third, with #44-Brennan Poole and #41-Sam Mayer rounding out the top five.
#26-Dean Thompson scored the best finish of his career in sixth, as #10-Daniel Dye, #39-Ryan Sieg, #5-Kris Wright and Smith completing the top 10. Gray was credited with a 29th-place effort after leading 87 laps.
Polesitter #88-Connor Zilisch led a race-high 100 laps, sweeping the opening two stages but dropped to 28th in the finishing order.
There were 14 lead changes among 10 drivers and 14 cautions for 104 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 54.615 mph.

Lap 256: #8-Smith retaliates and dumps #54-Gray entering Turn 3. #7-Allgaier and Smith make contact, allowing #21-Hill to sneak by for the victory.
Lap 255: #54-Gray bumps #8-Smith out of the way go take the lead coming to the white flag.
Lap 248: #8-Smith shoves #54-Gray up the track on to take the lead on the restart. #99-DiBenedetto spins in Turn 1 to bring out the caution.

For the first time on an oval, #88-Connor Zilisch won the pole (95.213 mph) for the Marine Corps 250 Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway. It is his third career pole in 11 starts, and he becomes the second rookie driver to ever win a pole at Martinsville (Sammy Smith, 2023).
JR Motorsports swept the front row, with fellow rookie #1-Carson Kvapil turning the second best speed (95.089 mph). Richard Childress Racing fills up the second row, with #21-Austin Hill (94.732 mph) and #2-Jesse Love (94.486 mph). #25-Harrison Burton rounds out the top five (94.369 mph), delivering AM Racing its best qualifying effort since the spring Las Vegas race in 2023.
#7-Justin Allgaier will look to win his third consecutive race in 2025 from the sixth starting position. #20-Brandon Jones, #17-Corey Day, #10-Daniel Dye and #8-Sammy Smith complete the top 10.
