Ricky Rudd says he’s close to selling a portion of his team, Rudd Performance Motorsports. Although Rudd, 42, wouldn’t reveal the name of the investor, he did say the potential partner has a “strong big-business background.” Rudd says the venture will allow him to add a second team next season. He denied speculation that he’s talking with owner/driver Bill Elliott of Dawsonville about forming a multi-car team.
