Jack Roush will officially announce his plans for Matt Kenseth at a 1:00pm/et press conference before the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway this Sunday. Roush is in the process of locating a temporary shop for both Kenseth and fellow teammate Chad Little. In order not to jeopardize his rookie status when he runs the full season in 2000, Kenseth will run only five Winston Cup races this year in the Dewalt Ford Taurus. Kenseth’s current sponsor, Dewalt, is also on-board to the Cup Series. The car will switch to a Ford and will retain the same paint scheme as on Kenseth’s current BGN ride. The team would like to keep the current #17( TNN Motorsports ) — UPDATE 2, Finally Official: It was announced Sunday that Kenseth would move up to the Cup series in 2000 with his current BGN team. The only switch would be going from Chevy to Ford. The #17 DeWalt Tools Ford will be co-owned by Jack Roush and Mark Martin. Robbie Reiser will be the crew chief and plans to keep his BGN team operating with a different sponsor and driver.
