Open-wheel standout Ryan Newman of South Bend(IN) will get his first chance at NASCAR’s Busch Grand National division Aug. 6 in the Kroger NASCAR 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Newman will drive the No. 12 Chevrolet owned by Winston Cup driver Jimmy Spencer(SpeedNet)(8-4-1999) – UPDATE: During the Silver Crown opening interviews Newman said he would not be running in the BGN event at IRP, they could not make it work(8-5-1999)
