Several Winston Cup drivers are ready to leave their current teams including two members of the series’ biggest organization, according to sources. Johnny Benson(#26 Cheerios Ford) is expected to announce this week he will leave Roush Racing – a five-team operation. Roush Racing’s Kevin Lepage(#16-TV Guide Ford) may also be ready to leave, sources said. Lepage’s contract expires at the end of the season with the #16 Fords and the team currently has no sponsor signed for 2000 and beyond. Lepage hasn’t posted a top-10 finish this season.
