Robert Yates said Friday he is in no hurry to fill the year-2000 vacancy in his #28 Ford, but at the same time rumors were circulating at Bristol Motor Speedway that Joe Nemechek now has the inside track. The probable scenario: Yates is using Nemechek as a fall-back choice in the event he cannot come to terms with Ricky Rudd, who is trying to decide whether or not to keep his own team in business( Monte Dutton/SpeedNet ). I also hear Kenny Irwin, and Joe Nemechek, may swap places before the end of the year to get a head start on next season
