Rudd News UPDATE 2 no press conference:

Ricky Rudd has meetings planned for Monday and Tuesday with two potential sponsors, at least one of which he hopes will provide him a good enough deal to continue running his own team for the next several years, according to sources. Rudd has tentatively scheduled a news conference Friday at Richmond International Raceway to announce his future plans. Sources say should Rudd’s effort fail, he will likely move into the #28 Fords owned by Robert Yates Racing( That’s Racin’ ) — UPDATE: I hear the announcement will be Rudd going to the #28. Had heard that he was talking to a few sponsors: Dell, Georgia-Pacific and UPS but they must have fell through. I guess we’ll find out on Friday for sure — UPDATE 2: hearing that Rudd will announce he will drive the #28 BUT is also looking for a ‘good’ driver to drive his #10 Ford in 2000, maybe found a sponsor? AND from the Times-Dispatch today – Ricky Rudd will not make an announcement this weekend concerning his team. The owner-driver has spent the week meeting with team owners and potential sponsors. Rudd has said that if he does not find a sponsor this month, he will sell the team. Rudd reportedly is the leading candidate to replace Kenny Irwin on Robert Yates team
