hearing that PPI Motorsports, who run Scott Pruett in the #32 Tide Ford, may run CTS driver, Andy Houston at Michigan in a 2nd PPI Ford. No word if McDonald’s will be the sponsor. Word is that Houston is a candidate for the full time 2001 ride in the car(8-3-2000) UPDATE: on Saturday night’s RPM 2Night show on ESPN2, Matt Yocum reported that Andy Houston would be entered in the Pepsi 400 at Michigan. Houston will drive the 2nd PPI Motorsports/Cal Well’s Ford(8-7-2000) UPDATE 2: Andy Houston has informed his #60 CTS team that he will not return to the team next year but that he has not signed any deals yet and is talking to a few BGN and CUP teams. Matt Yocum, once again reported that Houston will drive a 2nd Cal Wells/PPI Motorsports car at Michigan on August 20th(RPM2Night)(8-8-2000) UPDATE 3: PPI Motorsports (PPIM) announced today it will field a second Winston Cup car, the #98 Ronald McDonald House Charities Ford, with driver Andy Houston in the upcoming Pepsi 400 at Michigan Speedway Aug. 18-20, 2000. The car will be fielded alongside the team’s #32 Tide Ford, driven by Scott Pruett, as part of PPIM’s development toward a full time two-car effort in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series in 2001. Andy Houston, 29, of Hickory, N.C., currently stands fourth in the CTS points as driver of the #60 Cat Rental Store Chevrolet for Addington Racing. To date, he has claimed two race wins (Homestead and Portland) and one pole (Pikes Peak) going into this weekend’s truck series race at Nashville Speedway.
