Elliott Status UPDATE:

Bill Elliott is taking his rehabilitation from surgery on a fractured kneecap one day at a time and remains uncertain for this weekends Southern 500. David Green is standing by as a relief driver for the #94 McDonalds Ford(Times Dispatch) UPDATE: David Green will drive the McDonald’s #94 Ford in this weekend’s Cup race – Southern 500 at Darlington. Green is substituting for the injured Bill Elliott, who is recovering from a fractured left kneecap, suffered in a home accident last week (Aug. 22) in Blairsville, Ga. Elliott, who is expected to be in Darlington this weekend, is undergoing therapy at a rehabilitation center near his home in Blairsville and at HEALTHSOUTH Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. When he is at the track, Elliott will receive therapy from the Wake Forest medical unit, provided by Motor Racing Outreach(MRO).
