#24-Ricky Hendrick ran well during Friday morning’s practice session. But when qualifying was rained out, it appeared Hendrick might miss the BGN race since it was going to be his first series start this season. Hendrick, however, made the field thanks to a victory by Jeff Gordon in the Hendrick organization’s BGN car last November in Homestead, FL. “Going into qualifying we were going to be in the top 10; we were barely off. It’s a shame we didn’t to qualify, but thanks to Jeff’s win last year, we’re in the show, which is cool,” Hendrick said. “Starting in the back will just be something more to prove.” Hendrick is running a full schedule this season in NASCAR’s Truck series.
