Compton in the #49 at Talladega: The only driver to win a NASCAR Winston Cup pole at the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway last year will be behind the wheel of the #49 BAM Racing Dodge in this week’ EA Sport 500. Stacy Compton hasnt started worse than sixth at Talladega since his rookie season. He won both poles in the Mark Melling Dodge last year, and started sixth in the Spring in a Pontiac. BAM Racing has used several drivers this season, utilizing them at various tracks to help with the development of the race team, as well as researching driver possibilities for the future.(Williams Company)(10-1-2002)
