hearing former ppc Racing crew chief will be the new crew chief for the new Angela’s Motorsports/WiredFlyer #02 [to be #03 in 2003] BGN team and driver Mike McLaughlin.
UPDATE: After flirting with the idea of moving to the Winston Cup series, veteran crew chief Harold Holly has decided to remain in the BGN and has joined Angela’s Motorsports, which will field Fords next year with driver Mike McLaughlin. Holly, who left his position as crew chief and team manager at ppc Racing two weeks ago, is already at work with his new team this weekend. Holly won a BGN championship with Jeff Green in 2000 and considered joining Green in Cup at Richard Childress Racing. “I looked at it and I had to figure out what was best for me and where the stars lined up for me, and the opportunity to build a brand-new race team, hanging new bodies, that’s something I love to do,” Holly said. “I love building projects like that. Right now, there are just a few people in place and I will be part of hiring a whole brand-new team, be part of hiring administrative people up front, everything.” Holly said he and McLaughlin had a good relationship and didn’t expect any communication problems to plague them. “We’ve raced 10 years against each other. We’ve talked before about working together and this just kind of all fell into place,” Holly said.(ThatsRacin.com)(11-14-2002)
