NASCAR has picked [2004 Cup] rookie Scott Wimmer and Johnny Benson for Goodyear’s Homestead tire test. The choice of Wimmer has raised eyebrows in the Winston Cup garage because Bill Davis’ new driver has virtually no Cup experience. Goodyear is under the gun – it will have to pick the Homestead tire before the test. But Goodyear was on the mark at Chicago and Kansas City when they opened two years ago.( Winston Salem Journal ) UPDATE or is it Blaney? or all three? #77-Dave Blaney is scheduled to do the Goodyear tire test at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Oct. 28-29.
