Kerry Earnhardt will be in the #48 car of Innovative Motorsports for a one race deal at Phoenix.(BGNRacing.com)(10-17-2003)
UPDATE: Kerry Earnhardt will be driving the Innovative Motorsports #48 Chevy at Phoenix International Raceway in the Bashas Supermarkets 200 on November 1, 2003. The car will be honoring 76 Racing Gasolines involvement and commitment to NASCAR for more than 50 years. 76 Racing began its association in NASCAR as the Pure Oil brand in 1948 and its no coincidence that Kerry will be driving the #48 Chevy. The 76 brand has been the official racing fuel provider of NASCAR since 1948 and has gained a tremendous amount of brand recognition with NASCAR fans through its involvement in the sport. Kerrys father, the late Dale Earnhardt, a 7-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion was believed to have won more 76 Bonus awards over his career than any other driver.
Don Hawk, the President of Hawk Sports Management, comments that putting a deal like this together is what I enjoy Kerry deserves to drive, 76 deserves to be thanked and people like George deBidart, Racing Reflections and Snap-On tools all made this possible.
Eanrhardt will be enthusiastically returning to the NASCAR Busch Series. I cant wait to get behind the wheel again with an established team like Innovative Motorsports. I am thankful to have this opportunity to honor 76, drive the 48 and work with this team.
The car will carry the familiar 76 Ball logo on the Hood and Quarter Panels with the words Thanks for more than 50 years. Associate Sponsors will be Racing Reflections, Snap-On and Coca-Cola. Racing Reflections (www.racingreflections.com) has stepped up to help sponsor Kerry, Kelley and Dale Jr. over the past 10 years on numerous occasions.
