The beleaguered IPOWER Dash Series is for sale — on eBay. IPOWER owner Buck Parker, who lives here, put the sanctioning body on the chopping block Friday night. The starting bid for item No. 3872240288 is $100,000. For those who want to cut to the chase, you can “buy it now” for $650,000. As of Sunday morning [11am/et], there were no bids posted for IPOWER and its assets. Parker purchased the Dash Series from NASCAR at the end of 2003. In its first outing as an independent sanctioning body, one of IPOWER’s drivers struck and killed Daytona International Speedway track worker Roy Weaver. IPOWER sanctioned six more races after its tragic Daytona debut, then suspended operations in 2004. Two weeks ago, Parker was forced to cancel IPOWER’s premier race at Daytona due to insufficient funding. Among IPOWER’s assets are the rulebook, membership list, technical equipment, a Featherlite trailer, two race cars (minus engines), track contacts, Web site, track agreements and historical material.
