It might be a couple days early, but the folks at the Jack Daniel Distillery are planning to celebrate the birthday of their founder, Mr. Jack, on August 27th with the 160,000-plus race fans at the Bristol Motor Speedway for the Sharpie 500. “We annually celebrate Mr. Jack’s birthday in September across the world, but due to our affiliation with Richard Childress Racing and the millions of race fans across the country, we decided to kick off the celebration a little early with the fans at Bristol,” said John Hayes, Jack Daniel’s National Brand Manager. “We certainly couldn’t pass up the chance to celebrate his birthday in the home state of the Distillery. We think Mr. Jack would be proud, and we’re looking forward to one heck of a party.” To mark the special occasion, the #07 Jack Daniel’s Chevrolet Monte Carlo will feature a “Happy Birthday, Jack” special paint scheme during the Bristol race. The open-to-the-public Birthday celebration will kick off at 9 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m., giving plenty of time for race fans to get to their seats for the big race. The Jack Daniel’s Experience – a 53-foot tractor trailer filled with artifacts, state-of-the art video monitors, sound system and graphics will be on hand to give race fans a “taste of Lynchburg and the Distillery.” #07 driver Dave Blaney, Master Distiller Jimmy Bedford, Richard Childress and other Jack Daniel’s personalities will be on hand through out the day to meet with race fans. Other highlights will include a racing simulator, the #07 Jack Daniel’s show car, live musical entertainment, games, Bedford’s Jack Daniel’s 100th anniversary Heritage Soft Tail Harley-Davidson, and, of course, birthday cake in honor of the Distillery’s founder- who would have turned 155 this September!
